另外，早前一文出現過花車樂隊（bandwagon），那類車是一個半世紀前設有乘客廂座開發西部的馬車，而本文的float則為節日特別製造的巡遊車或裝飾，即長洲飄色巡遊可譯為「Piu Sik (floating colors) parade of floats」。
