圖為由怡和街向東望。
高士威道原為一條連接怡和街與天后的堤道，興建於1850年，後來才變為一條主要道路。
圖右曾有一個馬球場及堅尼地馬房，原址現為中央圖書館。
圖中的天后廟山於1950年代初開闢了怡景道及天后廟道。
圖左的避風塘於1951年進行填海工程，並於1957年建成維園。

The photo was taken from the east of Yee Wo Street.
Causeway Road was originally a causeway which was built in 1850s to link up Yee Wo Street and Tin Hau District. It was changed to a main road later.
On the right, there was a polo ground and Kennedy Stable, where today's Central Library was located.
In the middle, Yee King Road and Tin Hau Temple Road were constructed on the Tin Hau Temple Hill in 1950s.
On the left, the reclamation of the Typhoon Shelter began in 1951. In 1957, the Victoria Park was constructed on the newly reclaimed land. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
