Looking east from Man Wa Lane.
On the left, there was the Wing On Company which was removed there from Queen's Road Central in the early 1910s. Next to it, there was a small department store, Hip Cheong.
In the middle, there was the World Theatre. It was demolished in the mid 1970s to build the Vicwood Plaza. At the back of the Theatre was the Shui Hing Department Store, where today's Li Po Chun Chambers is located. The tallest building was The San Co. at Wing Wo Street.
On the right, there was the Tai Tung Restaurant, which was rebuilt to the CITIC Ka Wah Bank in 1973. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
