圖為由波斯富街向東望。
圖左的一列4層高樓宇群原為怡和街洋行的渣甸東倉，於1952年售出，並改建為民居以及紐約戲院。戲院所在現為銅鑼灣廣場。
這裡曾經名店林立，包括寶芳鞋王、金馬車餐廳以及商務印書館。圖右曾有一所香港百貨公司，後於1980年代改建為崇光香港百貨有限公司。
圖右的幫辦樓在1964年改建為香港大廈。背後的牛奶公司冰廠現為恒隆中心及皇室堡。

The four-storey buildings on the left were formerly the Eastern Godowns of Jardine Matherson Co. The godowns were sold in 1952 and rebuilt to residential buildings and the New York Theatre where today's Causeway Bay Plaza is located.
There were numerous famous shops, including the Po Fong Shoes, Golden Carriage Restaurant and Commercial Press. On the left was the Hong Kong Emporium which was rebuilt to Sogo in the 1980s.
On the right was the Inspector House which was rebuilt to the Hong Kong Building in 1964. The Dairy Farm Cold Storage becomes today's Hang Lung Centre and Windsor House. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
