上集談到英語學習者認為「介詞」是英語文法中難掌握的一個範疇。我們錯誤使用介詞的情況特別多：多用了介詞，少用了介詞，用錯介詞，以及混淆詞性。上文着力探討前兩項問題，本文則專注於後兩項。
三、用錯介詞
1. 太陽從東方升起。
× The sun rises from the east.
?? The sun rises in the east.
2. 在他的幫助下，我能及時完成我的工作。
× Under his help, I finished my work in time.
?? With his help, I finished my work in time.
中文中的「從」、「在......下」是這些錯誤的罪魁禍首，分別在字面上是from、under，但英語中並非如此，如The sun rises in the east中的in表達了太陽「在」東方升起，與中文的「從」有些微語意的分別，因此我們要注意不可直譯。

四、混淆詞性
During是介詞，而不是連接詞（conjunction），因此其後不能接完整句子he was in Paris，而要接名詞或名詞片語：
1. 他在巴黎期間，參觀過許多博物館。
×During he was in Paris, he visited many museums.
??During his stay in Paris, he visited many museums.
Cross與across的意思相似，但其詞性不同，cross是動詞，而across是介詞。因此，across前需加上動詞walk來表示「穿過 / 橫過這」的意思：
2. 不要橫過這條橋！
× Don't walk cross the bridge!
?? Don't walk across the bridge!
