位於圖片前面整中位置的中國銀行大廈落成於1951年。在其右方的希爾頓酒店現為長江中心；在其左方的滙豐銀行、渣打銀行、有利銀行及恒昌大廈現已重建。左下方的於仁大廈現為遮打大廈。
1965年開始的灣仔告士打道填海工程正在進行，一直到1970年才完成。
位於圖片正中的夏愨道旁的添馬海軍船塢於1990年代被填平，現時原址正興建新政府總部。
Central and Wanchai, C.1966
The Bank of China Building was located in the middle of the lower part of the picture. It was completed in 1951. The Hilton Hotel on its right is where the Cheung Kong Centre is located nowadays. The buildings on the left such as the HSBC, Chartered Bank, Mercanile Bank and Hang Cheong Building have all been rebuilt. The Union House on the bottom left of the picture is the Chartered House.
The reclamation of Gloucester Road which began in 1965 was in progress, and it was finished in 1970.
The Tamar Naval Dockyard besides Harcourt Road was reclaimed in 1990s. Now the new Government Secretariat is under construction there. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
