神州生態：綠海龜 Green Turtle

　海龜是龜鱉目動物中唯一生活在海洋的物種。成熟的雌性海龜交配後會洄游到沙灘產卵。綠海龜的體形較大，背甲的曲線可長達1米多，以海藻、蝦等為主食，因此體內積聚綠色素。牠們的壽命可長達100年或以上。

　The sea turtles are the only testudines. The adult females will return to land after mating to lay eggs on the beaches. The body size of the green turtle is relatively large with the curve length of the carapace measuring over 1 m. They are omnivorous feeding mainly on algae, shrimp etc. Such diet results in an accumulation of much green pigment inside their bodies. Their life span can be more than 100 years.　■資料：香港科學館
