Flu is a common infectious disease, and the woman is surprised because she didn't think that budgies (small birds) could get flu. However, "flu" is pronounced in exactly the same way as "flew" (the past tense of "fly"). The man's bird died because it flew into a car.
Flu和flew同音，女人以為對方說他的寵物鳥死於流感（flu），但其實他是說小鳥撞上車（flew into a car）而死。
