筆者跟很多香港人一樣，對香港的政治爭議環境，對香港社會不停內耗，感到鬱悶和無奈！那麼如何去平復一下心情？看書是一個非常好的選擇。最近看了這一本由即將卸任的美國總統奧巴馬所寫的書︰The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream（《無畏的希望：重申美國夢》），讀後認為值得向大家推介。
這是奧巴馬所寫的第二本自傳，書中解釋他參選前的美國價值觀，交代他對家庭、政府管治、兩黨政治、對外戰爭、反恐、宗教和外交政策的看法。
This is Obama's second political autobiography that explains his view on American values, family, government, war and foreign policy.
書中提到奧巴馬的美籍媽媽和祖父母在他的生活和對世界的看法發揮了強有力的作用；他的妻子和孩子在他生命和政治中發揮強力作用。
His American mother and grandparents played a strong role in his life and views on the world. His wife and children play a strong role in his life, so does his political drive and ambition.
他看見美國的各種對立和矛盾日益激化，美國家庭對經濟的不安全感，恐怖主義的威勢，政治體系內部的鬥爭，種族和宗教對抗等問題日益嚴重，是需要各方放下對立，尋求共識共贏才能有進展。
He examines the growing economic insecurity of American families, the racial and religious tensions within the body politic, and the transnational threats such as terrorism that need to be tackled with more cooperation and solidarity.
奧巴馬觀察到美國主流政治對民生和經濟發展的限制，他相信他自己能超越對立去解決美國的問題。
Obama observes the constraints of mainstream politics in America 10 years ago. He believes he can move beyond their divisions to tackle concrete problems.
讀過此書後發現書中的一些解決問題的方法，對關心和有志解決現在香港政治困局的朋友應有所啟發，筆者認為香港社會需要向前走，我相信對話比對抗好，香港的未來是在共識中找出路，尋回共識的力量，理性務實解決問題。香港和香港人要把握時機放下矛盾從新出發！■陳威雄
