（續11月8日期）每個明星都害怕狗仔隊 （paparazzi） 以及自己的私人生活 （his private life）被偷影和報道。但是，Ewan卻看得很淡然︰「They are generally looking for actors who are going out with other actors. Someone whose life they can document falling apart. That won't happen to me.」（狗仔隊通常都是捕捉演員和另一些演員一起出外，特別是某些人的生活開始支離破碎，他們就特別喜愛記錄下來，而這些都不會發生在我身上。）
當然了，Ewan McGregor出名是個好好先生，從來沒有什麼緋聞，結婚多年都是同一個伴侶，所以記者們都問他拿保持良好甜蜜婚姻的貼士。Ewan簡單地說："I appreciate that lovely feeling of being with someone for a really long time. You know each other so well and you're so comfortable in each other's company. I get asked what's the secret to a happy marriage a lot, and there's no answer to it without trivialising it. You can't just say 'if you do this or do that, you'll have a great marriage' because it doesn't work like that. There's no secret other than to be in love with the woman you're sharing your life with." （我欣賞和一個人長時間在一起的那種可愛感覺。你非常認識彼此，並且很舒服有大家的陪伴。我經常被問開心的婚姻有什麼秘密，而我覺得其實沒有答案是不會過分貶低它的。你不可以只說，如果你做這個或那個，你就會有好的婚姻。因為婚姻根本不是這樣運作的。除了深愛着和你分享生命的那個女人，沒有其他秘密。)
除了是好老公，在公開場合，常常不忘提及多麼愛太太外，他亦是個出名好爸爸。Ewan認為做父親要背起父親的責任，要撥出時間去明白子女，抽出下午和他們購物和單單跟他們建立親密，而非只是做一個權威父母角色："You also have to take your responsibility as a father seriously. You have to make time to get to know your children, spend afternoons shopping with them and just trying to build that closeness with them, instead of just being a parental figure. "
此外，他會確定自己的女兒能感到自己對父親來說非常特別，會為她們抽時間。這對他來說是作為父親最重要要做的事 （I've tried to make sure that my daughters felt that they were each very special to me, and that I'd always make time for them - I think that's one of the most important things to do as a dad）。作為超級大明星，工作忙碌，工作時間顛倒，但他並不會因此而放棄和女兒的親子時間。
