我們《真的戀愛了》三之二
電影《真的戀愛了》，英文片名為何叫Love Actually？影片開首，便由飾演英國首相的曉治格蘭（Hugh Grant）說了一段很優美的獨白，力證人類美善且充滿着愛：
Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the Arrivals Gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed - but I don't see that. Seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified, or newsworthy - but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends ... If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion you'll find that love actually is all around ...
每當我對世界的狀況開始感到悲觀，我便會想起希斯路機場。很多人開始相信，我們活在一個仇恨與貪婪的世界-但我不認為如此。我覺得，任何地方都充滿愛。很多時候它都不特別莊嚴，或特別值得報道-但它總在那兒-父子，母女，夫妻，男友，女友，老朋友......若你尋找它，我暗自懷疑，你將會發現愛其實充滿在周遭每個地方......
英國雖小 不卑不亢
英國首相在片中尚有一段不亢不卑的精彩說話。話說美國總統訪問英國，但談判顯得霸道，他本人更非禮首相府的秘書。記者會上，美國總統提及relationship（關係），首相反擊道：
I love that word "relationship". Covers all manner of sins, doesn't it？I fear that this has become a bad relationship; a relationship based on the President taking exactly what he wants and casually ignoring all those things that really matter to, erm... Britain. We may be a small country, but we're a great one, too. The country of Shakespeare, Churchill, the Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry Potter. David Beckham's right foot. David Beckham's left foot, come to that. And a friend who bullies us is no longer a friend. And since bullies only respond to strength, from now onward I will be prepared to be much stronger. And the President should be prepared for that.
我喜歡「關係」這個詞語。涵蓋了所有形式的罪惡，是不是？我恐怕這已變成一段壞的關係；這段關係着重於總統予取予攜，滿不在乎地忽視所有，嗯......對英國來說......真正重要的事。我們也許是個細小國家，但我們也是個偉大國家。這個國家有莎士比亞、邱吉爾、披頭四、辛康納利、哈利波特。碧咸的右腳，說起來還有碧咸的左腳。而一個欺負我們的朋友已不再是朋友。而由於惡霸只會對強者作出反應，從今開始我將會作好準備，變得厲害。而總統應當對此作好準備。■余 功
