¡@ La Fayette (1757-1834) made history as early as the United States¡¦ Independence War where he fought alongside the American insurgents. Influenced by new ideas he was elected as representative of the Auvergne region nobles at the Estates-General Assembly. He became one of the most famous personalities at the Assembly as member of a small group of liberal noblemen who supported constitutional monarchy. The 1789 insurrection made him commander of the Paris National Guard and he was the one to present the King with the tricolor cockade at the City Hall on 17 July. In August, he also read to the house representatives the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen which he was one of the main makers. ¡@¡½¸ê®Æ¡G»´ä¾ú¥v³Õª«À]
