攻克Listening之一

在HKDSE English Language Paper 2B中，每年都會有一兩條題目是描寫文或敘述文。究竟同學應否選擇這兩類題目呢？
若大部分考生認為，中文科是HKDSE的「死亡之卷」，Paper 3 Listening and Integrated Skills可謂英文科的「死亡之卷」。此卷難處在於：
1. 時間少（考生只有兩小時的答題時間）；
2. Tasks極多（在Part A及Part B中，考生大概要完成7個項目）；
3. 考核大量skills（考生要運用listening, reading and writing skills去完成所有Tasks）。究竟考生應如何準備？今期先討論有關listening的部分。
Part A Compulsory Part其實只有Listening這個部分。在Part A，試題通常要求考生聽完廣播之後，填寫missing information on websites, questionnaires, charts, layouts or maps等。題目類型可能包括填寫簡單數據、陳述別人意見、原因、結果或影響、好處與壞處，以及提供建議等。
平時要下苦功 勿臨急抱佛腳
在Part B（無論選擇B1或B2)，考生會聽到另一段廣播，根據所提供的headings去jot down重點。而那些重點會幫助考生完成稍後的writing部分。考生若要在Part A摘取高分，必須留意以下貼士：
1. 平時多加練習，因為listening就像oral ，「臨急抱佛腳」的溫習方式並不奏效。
2. 一定要善用preparation time去作合理推斷，嘗試估計空格的missing information是甚麼。何為合理推斷？在未聽廣播前，當然無法知道正確答案，但應大概知道答案屬哪一類。
PRACTICE
Situation: You will listen to a meeting at a College where people are discussing the college's new online systems for checking plagiarisms (called "Copyfree") and its advantages. Listen to the meeting and fill in the missing information in the spaces provided in the note sheet.
Task: Before the listening starts, you must predict the type of missing information you need to look for subsequently. Try to guess the content or the word class of the following blanks.
Copyfree - possible features:
