The diamond ring worths ten thousand dollars.
A small flat in Hong Kong can worth several million dollars.
The diamond ring is worth ten thousand dollars.
A small flat in Hong Kong can be worth several million dollars.
然而,除此之外,worth後面亦可加上其他名詞,以反映該事物有沒有價值,是否值得等等,例如worth a fortune、worth a visit/a trip,以及worth nothing等等:
His collection of art works is worth a fortune.
The Louvre Museum is definitely worth a visit.
These paintings have been proved to be fakes; basically they are worth nothing.
短語「be worth it」
相反的be not worth it則是沒有回報,不值得。
I spent a lot of effort on preparing for the exam but the results showed that it was worth it.
I won't talk to him anymore, it isn't worth it.
We had a meeting for three hours. I hope it would be worth it for the final agreement we had made.
Be worth
This book is worth reading as there are a lot of interesting viewpoints.
This is a job worth doing, so you should do it well.
It is well worth bearing in mind that life is always worth living.
