寫作必備 Prepositional Phrase之上
許多考生未能了解，應考DSE作文卷，首先要認清的是其use of vocabulary和use of sentence pattern是必須「升呢」的。他們誤以為，只要運用以前junior form學的英文生字便夠應試。但事實上，此舉等於手執小刀，卻一心想去鋸大樹，必定敗仗而回。筆者教授英文作文時，第一件事就是要求學生明白學習senior form英文的重要性。舉例而言，以往初中時，他們可能會用 "in order to" 去表達「為了」；到高中時，就可鼓勵他們寫argumentative writing等formal writings時，以 "in an attempt to"、 "in an effort to" 或 "in a bid to" 去代替 "in order to" 。以下舉出更多例子：

．In honour of 為紀念/致敬/祝賀

．In defence of 保衛
