In the twinkling of an eye
日子過得很快，不經不覺暑假已經過去，轉眼間新學年又開始了。說時間很快過去或者事情瞬間發生，會說轉眼間或眨眼間，英文亦有in the twinkling of an eye的說法，也是「一眨眼之間」的意思。
短語中的twinkling來自動詞twinkle，意思是閃爍，光點閃動，很多人都熟悉的兒歌twinkle, twinkle, little star就是描寫小星星一閃一閃的景致。除了作為動詞，twinkle亦可以是名詞。
At night, the moon shines and the stars twinkle in the clear sky.
晚上，晴朗的天空中，月兒明亮，星星閃耀。
