Clipped word知多少?二之二
香港的英文老師較少教同學clipped words，因為怕同學會混淆。但是，若果用得適當的話，其實反而會令閱卷員或考官另眼相看。舉例說，若然在寫作卷上要同學寫一封informal email時，這時候，同學就要切忌寫得太正規，反而clipped words就大派用場。
口語用得合適 說話更流暢
所以，重點是要懂得審題，明白題目的情境是甚麼。除了在英文作文上可以用clipped words，在英語會話也可以用clipped words。用得合適的話，會有助你說英文說得更流暢，更像外國人。此外，在Reading Comprehension中，你也會見到clipped words。若然你不懂的話，就會令你一頭霧水，難以明白文中所謂的是甚麼意思了。
