■Butterfingers可解作笨手笨腳、經常弄跌東西。網上圖片朋友回憶起年輕時在餐館做兼職，第一天上班，拿起一疊碟子，碟子不慎從手中滑下，摔到地上全碎了，老闆說她是butterfingers，結果未領薪水已要賠錢。
所謂butterfingers：牛油butter加上手指fingers，所指不是手指，而是形容一個笨手笨腳的人，經常弄跌東西，就像手指塗了牛油，不能把東西握牢。
butterfingers雖然-s，但指的是一個人，故此是單數。運動員一時失手，例如足球隊的守門員，沒有把球拿穩，也會被人叫作「牛油手」。例如：
She was such a butterfingers. She dropped all the plates on the floor.
她真是笨手笨腳，把盤子都摔到地上。
You shouldn't ask him to do the washing up. You know what a butterfingers he is.
你不應該吩咐他洗碗碟，你也知道他是多麼笨手笨腳。
既作名詞 亦作形容詞
轉化為過去分詞的butterfingered可用作形容詞，同樣形容一個人笨手笨腳，例如：
