Stars are sparse;

Tolls and drumbeats die.

Outside the curtain

under a fading moon, orioles cry.

Dews on orchids are thick;

In the wind, willows sway.

Fallen flowers heap up in the yard in disarray.

In the empty attic,

Over the balustrade, she gives a stare:

Like last year, sadness fills the air.

Spring's waning,

Endless thoughts in her mind gleam:

Bygone joys are like a dream.

星斗稀，鐘鼓歇，

簾外鶯啼殘月。

蘭露重，柳風斜，

滿庭堆落花。

虛閣上，倚闌望，

還似去年惆悵。

春欲暮，思無窮，
