縮寫字知多少Part 1
在英語世界中，不得不提及，不可不知的就是abbreviation（縮寫字）了。很多人以為，short form就是縮寫的英文；但正確的用法其實是abbreviation。一些較普遍的縮寫，大家都有所認識，例如：ID是identification（身份），UFO是undentified flying objects（不明飛行物體)，CCTV是closed circuit TV（閉路電視）等。
以下是一些常見的縮寫字：
1. II：Illegal immigrant（非法入境者）
2. ASAP：as soon as possible（盡快）
3. P.O.：Box post office box
（郵政信箱）
4. ext.：extension（外線）
5. XL：extra large（加大碼）
6. IQ：Intelligent Quotient（智力指數）
7. EQ：Emotional Quotient（情感指數）
8. AQ：Adversity Quotient（逆境指數）
9. SQ：Spiritual Quotient（靈性指數）
10. AI：Artificial Intelligence（人工智能）
11. NET：native English-speaking teacher
（外籍英語教師）
12. R&D：research and development（研究發展）
13. PR：Public Relations（公共關係）
14. GM food：genetically modified food
（基因改造食物）
15. PIN：personal identification number（個人身份號碼）
