中聯辦主任張曉明上星期的文章強調香港特區行政長官普選制度是最適合現階段香港實際情況的制度，是完全符合「一國兩制」方針和基本法的制度，是切實可行的好制度，筆者非常同意。
He is right! Mr. Zhang, the Director-General of the Liaison Office of the Central Peoples' Government in the HKSAR, said that the political reform proposal is the most suitable one for the people of Hong Kong. This will be a system the fully in line with the "One Country Two Systems" policy and the Basic law.
正如張曉明在文章所提：「由於各國各地區的歷史、文化、宗教信仰、政治傳統、經濟社會發展水平等各不相同，世界上並沒有統一適用的政治制度包括普選模式。即使是同樣實行普選制的國家，其選舉制度也不盡相同。」
The implementation of democracy varies widely from country to country (regions). There is no uniform political system that fits everywhere due to differences in religion, culture, economic development, traditions and political background.
理直氣壯地支持政改
現時2017年特首普選方案是符合香港基本法及根據人大常委會「8．31」決定框架，是依據香港特定的憲制地位（constitutional status）、特殊的民主發展情況 、香港與中央的關係、複雜的社會政治生態、多元的利益訴求狀況下所制訂，是一個合憲、合法、合理、合情的方案。所以我們必須理直氣壯支持政改。
普選對香港民主發展是非常重要的，應先行取得經驗再逐步優化，若政改不獲通過，繼續蹉跎並非市民福祉。張主任在文章中已明確、清楚地傳達了一個很重要的訊息，就是全國人大常委會「8．31」决定框架不會改變，故希望香港社會、反對派議員等不要浪費這個大好時機。
"If you have one shot, or one opportunity...... Would you capture it or just let it slip?" Let's not waste such great opportunity to take a step forward to achieve universal suffrage.
