■動物間的獵食與拚搏與人類社會相似。 網上圖片最近觀看有關大自然的電視節目，見到天地萬物在不同的環境各有天生的求生技能。
動物為求自身生存和物種傳承，經常都要追捕、獵殺其他動物，張牙舞爪，鏡頭前出現不少血腥、殘暴的畫面。想起了英文形容大自然的一句短語red in tooth and claw。
物競天擇 人間競爭
可以想像，red in tooth and claw是形容大自然的殘酷現象。Tooth為牙齒，claw是利爪，red指血紅色，說的是動物捕捉了獵物，殺死、食用，牙和爪都染了血，變成紅色。
以前文學家就用這腥牙血爪的影象描述自然界物競天擇，物種為求生存而互相廝殺。現在這短語除了描寫動物間的獵食，亦引伸用作形容人類一些殘酷無情的競爭和衝突。
