由昭隆街向東望。左面的屋宇於1920年代起改為商務印書館。大樹左面的高等法院於1924年改建為華人行。
右面的寶路洋貨公司，當時有一所屈臣氏大藥房，今日變成興瑋大廈。
圖片正中是1846年落成的第一代香港會，其於1931年改建為娛樂戲院，現時是娛樂行。

Looking east from Chiu Lung Street, the house on the left was the Commercial Press built in 1920s. The Supreme Court on the left beside the big tree was rebuilt to the China Building in 1924.
The Watson's Dispensary was located in the W. Powell Emporium Company's house. It is the Hing Wai Building today.
In the middle of the photo, there was the first generation of the Hong Kong Club, which was rebuilt to the King's Theatre in 1931. Nowadays, it becomes the Entertainment Building. ■鄭寶鴻 香港歷史博物館榮譽顧問
